To be honest, I bought these for tightening rubber/bungee cords, rather than for holding bamboo skewers, which is their intended use. They are the correct size, their spring is a bit softer than the plastic equivalents, they hold well the slippery rubber cords (thus I am sure they will also grip well bamboo skewers), although they are not as smooth/gentle on the rubber coords, as both cylinders are hollow and kind of sharp (not deburred). I am not holding this against the item, as they are intended to be used with wooden/bamboo skewers.If the price is right, go for them.
